The Perfect Picnic Quilt.

This quilt features colorful fabric scraps from so many of my quilting friends. I carefully hand stitched the patches together using a method called English paper piecing - small fabric scraps are wrapped around paper shapes, intricately stitched using needle and thread, and then the paper is removed before the quilt is finished. It’s an old method that results in perfect shapes, in this case hexagons.

Dimensions: about 71 inches from side to side and 82 inches from point to point

Zoë Dawn Shop quilts are made using about 75% rescued and upcycled fabrics. This machine quilted quilt is lined with a thin cotton batting - perfect for a little cushion while you picnic but not so heavy that it feels too hot on a warm day. The backing is an antique red and white print. Some age spotting may be found.

Care: machine wash cold with like colors on a gentle cycle. Color catchers recommended. Hang to dry for maximum life or machine dry on low for that perfect crinkled quilt look. Quilt comes pre-washed in free-and-clear laundry detergent.
